The public is invited to join UT’s McClung Museum for a bus tour of important Civil War sites in Fort Sanders and around Knoxville from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10.

The bus tour, circling the 1863 Knoxville federal defensive line, will be led by McClung Museum Civil War curator Joan Markel. Attendees will hear the powerful tale of the Battle of Fort Sanders from the comfort of a tour bus, complete with wine and snacks.

Tour tickets are $40 for museum members and $60 for nonmembers (the nonmember price includes a one-year membership to McClung Museum, and a portion of your ticket is tax deductible). The ticket fee includes a keepsake wine tumbler in addition to food and drink. Attendees will meet in the museum lobby at 1:45 p.m. to depart for the tour.

To reserve tickets, contact Stacy Palado at 865-974-2143 or spalado@utk.edu and include name(s), phone number, and number of tickets needed. Check or credit card payments will be accepted.

The McClung Museum is located at 1327 Circle Park Drive. Museum admission is free, and the museum’s hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
