Forty agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation spent this week training at UT’s Forensic Anthropology Center. They learned about forensic odontology, archaeological approach in burial recovery and the use of current technology available to help in discovering and recovering human remains. They also practiced methods for discovering clandestine graves, conducted excavation of the human remains, and collected botanical and insect evidence at UT’s Anthropology Research Facility, commonly known as the Body Farm.

Members of the media featured the agents’ excavation exercise Friday in several stories. Outlets included the Knoxville News Sentinel, WATE-TV Channel 6, WVLT-TV Local 8 Now, and WBIR-TV Channel 10.
