For the eleventh consecutive year, UT is competing in the nationwide RecycleMania Tournament. Approximately 400 schools compete each spring to see who can produce the least amount of waste as well as recycle and compost the most.

RECYCLEMANIAFLYER4UT is joined by eight other SEC schools in the 2016 competition, which runs through April 2: Auburn, LSU, Florida, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Mizzou, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Help UT rise to the top by reducing the amount of waste you produce, reusing as many things as you can, and of course, recycling all your paper, cardboard, bottles and cans, printer cartridges, and more.

Some key ways you can help:

  • Remember to bring your own mug and use it in Volunteer Dining locations for a discount with the Mug Project. You can get a refill on coffee or soda for just $.99 and get 15 percent off specialty drinks.
  • Request a big paper bin and a “Zero Waste” bin if you’re moving offices or cleaning out. The Zero Waste bin is a new initiative for recyclable and reusable items from offices like staplers, binders, electronics, etc. that can be given another life.
  • Bring your recyclable items from home to our Public Recycling Drop-Off outside Dock 25 of the Facilities Warehouse at 2121 Stephenson Drive.
  • Recycle your printer cartridges, batteries, and small techno-trash and electronics through Mail Services with the E-Recycling Mail program.
