Mark Hector_In MemoriamMark A. Hector, a longtime faculty member in the Department of Psychology, passed away, on January 4. He was seventy-four.

He taught counseling and psychology at UT from 1973 until his retirement in 2015.

Prior to UT, Hector taught math in Navrongo, Ghana, with the Peace Corps and Teachers for West Africa. He was an active member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Knoxville.

Hector is survived by Judith Harle Hector, his wife of forty-seven years, daughters Wendy and Shannon, a son-in-law and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mark’s church, the Men’s Chorale at UT, or a charity of your choice . There will be private arrangements for a celebration of life at a later date.
