Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek recently announced a new Center for Health Education and Wellness program to help employees make small starts that add up to big changes in their health.
From drinking more water to parking farther away, small steps add up day by day. We all know co-workers who are inspiring in their enthusiasm, perseverance, dedication, and support for others.
Be Well is enlisting the help of these Wellness Champions to bring information about the initiative and resources into their departments and to encourage and support those around them as they adopt healthier habits.
Please consider joining Be Well as a Wellness Champion or nominate a friend or co-worker! To become a Wellness Champion, complete the online application on the Be Well website.
As a Wellness Champion, you will attend two meetings a year, share information about health and wellness activities on campus with your co-workers, and help organize activities in your department like lunchtime walks or healthy potlucks.
Employee Wellness Coordinator Marc McCulley will share resources with Wellness Champions and help plan and facilitate activities. Wellness Champions will receive a monthly e-mail and updates about wellness opportunities in the campus community. Any full-time faculty or staff member can sign up to become a Wellness Champion.
