Dr. Jiangang Chen, associate professor in the Department of Public Health in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, was interviewed by Live Science about a University of California, Berkely, study that indicates that a group of chemicals commonly used in cosmetics and other personal-care products may stimulate the growth of breast cancer cells at doses much lower than previously thought.

Chen researches potential environmental impacts on human reproduction. A considerable part of his research has been focused on a wide variety of synthetic compounds with intrinsic hormonal activity that may have adverse effects on human health.
