Employee and Organizational Development hosted its first Conference for Women in Leadership on Thursday, June 18. An advisory board of senior female leaders from across the university system helped design the event and more than one hundred participants attended.
Seasoned UT speakers, as well as guest keynote speakers and presenters delivered sessions in support of the theme To Lead and to Follow: Advancing Women in Leadership. Each campus and institute was represented, and women at many levels of leadership participated.
EOD has received excellent feedback with 96 percent of participants indicating they would attend the conference in the future.
Some excerpts from anonymous participant feedback:
I have attended conferences in the past that did not deliver anything that was promised. Not this one! I have taken away many things from this conference, things that I can use in my daily life as a leader to make the work environment better. I have already shared the information I got with the other staff in my office.
I thought this was a great conference. I loved that it focused on issues pertinent to women, and that we used experts within the UT system. All of the sessions I attended were great, and I didn’t feel like anything was not relevant to me or my position.
