A national search is underway for the associate vice chancellor of Human Resources for the Knoxville campus.

The associate vice chancellor reports to the vice chancellor for Human Resources. The following are some of the position’s duties and responsibilities:

  • Represents Human Resources by attending all Employee Relations group meetings, Exempt Staff Council meetings, Faculty Senate meetings, and all commission meetings on the Knoxville campus
  • Provides leadership for the Knoxville HR team; works collaboratively with the System HR team and Human Resources Officers statewide
  • Provides policy and procedure development and interpretation, program development and implementation, and university compliance with certain state and federal laws
  • Consults with university leadership and managers on the Knoxville campus to assess HR needs and issues and determines appropriate responses.

Mike Wirth, dean of the College of Communication and Information, is chairing the search committee. Other members of the search committee include: Frank Cuevas, University Housing; Deanna Flinchum, Center for Transportation Research; David Golden, Food Science and Technology; Eric Gometz, Facilities Services; Jonee Lindstrom, Finance and Administration; Larry McKay, Earth and Planetary Sciences; Annette Ranft, Haslam College of Business; Sherry Sims, Human Resources; Connie Walden, Human Resources; John Zomchick, Office of the Provost; Ashlie Czyz, Human Resources.
