Then a visiting assistant professor at Virginia Tech, Ashley Maynor, filmmaker and UT digital humanities librarian, was on campus in Blacksburg when the flood of condolence cards, teddy bears, and other things began pouring into the area after the April 16, 2007, campus shootings, the deadliest mass shooting incident in US history. As a way of coping with her own grief, Maynor created “The Story of The Stuff,” a web documentary about grief and mourning. She was interviewed for a segment on WVTF public radio in Roanoke, Va.
