Business dean Steve Mangum, UT President Joe DiPietro, Jim Haslam, Governor Bill Haslam and UT Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek stand around a plaque detailing Haslam’s contribution to the school and the community.

The Haslam family is featured in the Philanthropy 50, a list of America’s fifty most generous donors compiled by The Chronicle of Philanthropy. The Haslams donated $50 million in 2014 to UT’s College of Business Administration, which was then named the Haslam College of Business. The donation is being used to hire faculty and to support research and scholarships.

The gift was made in October 2014 by James and Natalie Haslam; their children and children’s spouses, Jimmy and Dee Haslam, Ann Haslam Bailey and Steve Bailey, and Bill and Crissy Haslam; and the Haslams’ five grandchildren and their spouses, Whitney and J. W. Johnson, Cynthia and David Arnholt, Hannah and Will Haslam, Annie and David Colquitt, and Leigh and Matt Avery.
