Families and community members are invited to explore and enjoy free winter holiday-themed family events throughout December at the McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture.

On Saturday, December 13, the museum will offer a free family fun day about winter holidays around the world.

The 1:00-4:00 p.m. event will take place in the Decorative Arts Gallery and the museum’s lobby and will feature a winter-themed craft for children to take home. All materials will be provided. The program is free and open to the public, and reservations are not necessary.

A free stroller tour will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15. The event will include a winter holiday-themed tour and activities in the museum’s Decorative Arts Gallery. Parents and caregivers with toddlers or babies are invited to meet in the museum’s lobby before taking the tour. This is part of a monthly series of free stroller tours that allow parents and caregivers to interact with one another and museum staff without the worry of disrupting other visitors.

The program is free and open to the public, but reservations are necessary and are first-come, first-served. Online registration is preferred and is available online. Participants also may call the museum at 865-974-2144 to make a reservation.

The McClung Museum is located at 1327 Circle Park Drive. Admission is free, and the museum’s hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Free two-hour museum parking passes are available from the parking information building at the entrance to Circle Park Drive on the weekdays, and first-come, first-served free parking is available on the weekends. Free public transportation to the museum is also available via the Knoxville Trolley Vol Line.

Additional parking information is available online.
