Photo by Jim HarrisonThe campus community is invited to a sit-down with noted biologist and honorary doctorate recipient Edward O. Wilson on Friday, December 12.

“A Conversation with E. O. Wilson” will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Alumni Memorial Building Room 32. It is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

Wilson is an American biologist, researcher, theorist, naturalist, and author. He is considered the world’s leading authority on ants and the founder of sociobiology.

Wilson, who studied at UT for a short time in the 1950s, will receive an Honorary Doctor of Science and Letters degree in ecology and evolutionary biology during fall Commencement. The ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, in Thompson-Boling Arena.
