For the first time in its history, UT has named a college in recognition of an alumnus and donor. The Haslam family, of Knoxville, announced today a landmark gift of $50 million to the UT College of Business Administration. The UT Board of Trustees voted today to name the college the James A. Haslam II
Steven Wilhelm, professor of microbiology, has been appointed Kenneth and Blaire Mossman Professor. The five-year appointment began August 1, 2014, and continues through the end of the 2018-19 academic year. The professorship in the College of Arts and Sciences was generously endowed in 2010 by alumni Kenneth and Blaire Mossman formerly of Scottsdale, Arizona.
UT is being recognized on the national stage for the transformations it has made to improve student retention and graduation rates.
