The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture will host a workshop related to the new exhibit Birds, Bugs, and Blooms: Natural History Illustration from the 1500s–1800s.
Registration is now open for the workshop, “Using Scratchboard to Create Lifelike Natural History Illustrations.” It will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 pm on Sunday, October 5, at the museum and will be taught by Barbara Dinkins, a marine invertebrate taxonomist and illustrator.
Adults and teenagers accompanied by a participating adult may attend and are encouraged to register by October 1. No previous experience in illustration is required.

The McClung Museum is located at 1327 Circle Park Drive. Museum admission is free, and the museum’s hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Free parking is available on Circle Park Drive on a first-come, first-served basis on weekends. Free public transportation to the museum is also available via the Knoxville Trolley Vol Line.
