Three UT students have been selected by the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis, or NIMBioS, for its highly competitive Summer Research Experience for 
Undergraduates and Teachers currently underway on campus. Participating are Veronica Go, an undergraduate in biochemistry and statistics; Margaret McDaniel, an undergraduate in mathematics and biochemistry and molecular biology; and Benjamin Roberson, an undergraduate in computer science. Projects range from modeling Argentine ant super-colonies to tracking facial expressions and conscious experience of emotion.
