A portion of Middle Drive will be blocked on Thursday, June 12, while work is done on air conditioning units on two buildings. The work is scheduled to commence about 7:00 a.m. and be completed by noon.
During that time, car and bike traffic will be detoured around an area of Middle Drive and Lower Drive while a crane is used to remove old air conditioning units from the roof of the Earth and Planetary Sciences Building as part of the roof replacement project. Barricades and flagmen will guide traffic.
Once that work is complete, the crane will be moved to set a new air conditioning unit on the roof of Dougherty Engineering Building. Middle Drive near the Science and Engineering Research Facility (SERF) will be closed for this portion of the work, which is expected to last from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
During the road closure, vehicles will be able to turn around in the loading dock area of SERF, and motorists will still have access to parking at Perkins Hall and the bus stop. A flagman will be at the site.
Beginning after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Tee Martin Drive and Estabrook Road will be closed near Neyland Stadium and Berry Hall for approximately two hours as crews work on fire alarm wiring in the stadium.
