LeeHumeA design by Lee Hume, an art director in the Office of Communications and Marketing, is a semi-finalist in a contest for the ABC television show Nashville.

Hume, who graduated from UT in 1982 with a degree in fine arts, entered a contest to design the new album cover art for one of the show’s characters, Rayna Jaymes, portrayed on the show by actress Connie Britton. Hume’s design was chosen as one of ten semi-finalists. The public is invited to vote on their favorite design to narrow the field down to five finalists. The finalists will then be sent to the show’s producers, who will choose the winner.

RaynaJaymesAlbum“This has been fun for me because I grew up in Nashville, so it feels like it’s come full circle,” said Hume. “I recognize so many locations on the show from growing up there. It’s such a hoot.”

You can cast your vote for Hume’s design (pictured at left) by visiting the contest’s Facebook album and liking the photo of his album cover. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, April 20.
