UT has established the Harold “Prof” Powers Scholarship for McMinn County, Tennessee, students, thanks to a gift from Athens native and UT alumnus Larry Pratt. The scholarship is designed to enhance access by eliminating financial barriers to attend the state’s flagship research university.
UT’s public radio station, WUOT 91.9 FM, will launch its newest program, Jazz Jam, tonight. The program is hosted by Kelle Jolly, who has made an impact in Knoxville as a singer, actress, and fashion designer.

Brad Walker has joined UT Knoxville’s Office of Emergency Management as an emergency management specialist. In his new role Walker will work closely with departments on emergency preparedness planning and training.
