Tsvi Kahana, associate professor of law at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, will give the Karen and Pace Robinson Lecture on Modern Israel on Tuesday, March 25.
The event begins at 7:00 p.m. in Room 132 of the College of Law. A reception will follow Kahana’s presentation. Both events are free and open to the public.
Kahana’s lecture, “Majestic Constitutionalism: The Israeli Version,” is presented by the Fern and Manfred Steinfeld Program in Judaic Studies in the Department of Religious Studies.
“We are fortunate to have a scholar as accomplished as Professor Kahana to continue this informative lecture series,” said Gilya Schmidt, a professor in religious studies and director of the Steinfeld program.
Kahana teaches, researches, and publishes in the areas of legislative studies, constitutional theory, and comparative constitutional law. He is the co-editior of The Least Examined Branch: Legislature in The Constitutional State and Feminist Constitutionalism. Kahana received his doctorate from the University of Toronto.
The lecture was made possible through the Karen and Pace Robinson Enrichment Fund in Religious Studies, which was created to support public lectures and scholarship on the state of modern-day Israel. The event is cosponsored by the Department of Religious Studies and the College of Law.
