The office of First-Year Studies is seeking instructors for Fall 2014 first-year seminars.
Each FYS 101 class is a small seminar—no more than twenty students—designed to acclimate first-year students to campus and provide them with the skills and experiences to be academically successful. Applications for FYS 101 are due by Tuesday, April 1.
FYS 129 seminars are topical and designed to connect students with UT faculty early in their academic career. Maximum enrollment for these seminars is eighteen and students are encouraged to choose seminar titles or seminar faculty that interest them. Recent topics have included Sociology and Science Fiction; How to Argue (Without Yelling or Punching); Inside Tennessee Athletics; and Truth, Justice, and Superheroes. Course proposals for FYS 129 will be given priority consideration if received by Tuesday, April 15.
If you are interested in teaching either of these seminars, visit the First-Year Studies website.
