Lorna Greening, an independent economic consultant and researcher based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, has been named a fellow in energy and environmental policy at UT’s Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.
Greening has more than thirty years of experience in the energy industry, including consulting, research, academia, the public utility industry, and the petroleum industry as an exploration geologist. Her research interests include energy and natural resource economics, greenhouse gas mitigation, and regulation policies.
“Dr. Greening will prove to be an important asset to the Baker Center as we strive to increase our policy research footprint in the areas of energy and environmental policy,” Director Matt Murray said.
As part of her appointment, which is not a paid position, Greening will help foster interdisciplinary funded research with Baker Center fellows and UT faculty. She also will assist with grant writing.
Greening is a co-editor of Energy Policy, an international peer-reviewed journal, and associate editor and a member of the board of Energy Economics, one of the fifty top-ranked economics journals. She has published in a variety of energy publications.
Greening received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a doctorate in economics from the Colorado School of Mines.
