Middle Drive on the Hill will be closed to traffic on an intermittent basis on Wednesday, December 18, through Friday, December 20. Each temporary closure is expected to last around ninety minutes.
During these temporary closures, northbound traffic on Phillip Fulmer Way needing access to Middle Drive will be rerouted to Tee Martin Drive behind Neyland Stadium, connecting to Estabrook Drive on the east side of the Hill. Barricades will be in place and UT Police Department officers will be on hand to assist with traffic. Vehicles still will be able to access the Hill from Circle Drive via Cumberland Avenue.
With the university closing for the holidays December 23 through 27, Middle Drive will be closed during daylight hours all that week and will reopen each night. However, if daytime access is necessary during that time period, please contact the UT Police Department at 974-3114 for assistance.
The road closures are part of the construction of a pedestrian bridge that will cross over Phillip Fulmer Way, connecting the new Student Union with the Hill. That section of Phillip Fulmer Way will remain closed until summer 2014.
