Tom CervoneTom Cervone has returned to UT as managing director of the Professional Master of Business Administration program.

Cervone is a 2010 graduate of the program, which is based in the College of Business Administration. Since graduation, he has been serving as a leadership development coach for the program.

Cervone has dedicated most of his life and career to the advancement of the arts and culture industry, as well as the nonprofit sector. He previously served as the first executive director of the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation, a nonprofit group established to maintain and preserve the historic Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxville. He was charged with the governing and oversight of the management, operation, programming, and preservation of the building and the business.

Prior to that, he spent twenty-three years managing UT’s Clarence Brown Theatre. During that time, Cervone was active within the UT community, having served as Exempt Staff Council chair, co-chair of the LGBT Commission, and committee chair on several external exempt staff searches. He also received the Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Service to the University in 2010.

Cervone serves on the board of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Greater Knoxville, the advisory board for the College of Business at Maryville College, and the board and curriculum committee for Leadership Knoxville. He also is co-chair of the parish council at Blessed John 23rd University Parish. He is a longtime member of the Actors’ Equity Association.

Cervone received his undergraduate degree in speech and English with an emphasis in theater from West Liberty University in West Virginia and a Master of Fine Arts from UT. He is a graduate of the Leadership Knoxville class of 2011.
