healthcenterWhether you’ve got a case of the sniffles, need a prescription filled, or need a vaccination, the Student Health Center has a wide range of services. When you are in need of care, the staff’s goal is to help you stay healthy.

Acute Care Clinic/Triage Nurse: The ACC serves you with same-day non-emergency but acute/urgent health concerns. Appointments are scheduled for the same day but only by first speaking with their triage nurse at (865) 974-5080.

Primary Care Clinic: The PCC is where most patients “go to see the doctor.” PCC handles routine cold and sinus problems to muscle or skeletal injuries and even chronic medical problems like asthma and high blood pressure.

healthcenterboyPharmacy: The pharmacy can fill prescriptions written by doctors of the Student Health Center and those written by outside doctors. The pharmacy accepts most insurance plans, including those offered by the State of Tennessee.

Sports Medicine Clinic/Physical Therapy: The SMC helps you maintain an active lifestyle. This area evaluates sports-related injuries, such as sprains, strains, and simple fractures, and develops a treatment plan for a safe return to activity.

Women’s Health Clinic: The WHC serves the health care needs specific to female students including annual examinations, pregnancy testing, screenings, and treatments.

healthcentersitAllergy/Immunization Clinic: The AIC serves two roles: coordinating the care of allergy patients and giving vaccinations. If you need vaccines required for attendance, participation, or travel, contact them to determine what vaccines they can give.

Mental Health Clinic: The MHC assists in meeting the mental health needs of students by providing psychiatric assessment and treatment and counseling.

Physical Exam Section: Students are often required to have physicals for various ativities. The PES provides access to a medical provider for physicals required by certain organizations or groups for participation or employment.

Travel Clinic: The Travel Clinic is a resource for students to utilize before and after traveling abroad. With a known itinerary, the clinic can review the most recent health threat risk warnings issued by the Centers for Disease Control and assist with preparation.

The Student Health Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for Wednesdays, when hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Students are strongly encouraged to make an appointment. The Student Health Center recommends making the appointment as early as possible in the day to be seen the same day. Students can make appointments online 24/7 or call during open hours. For more information, visit studenthealth.utk.edu.
