Traffic ConesCampus road closures and detours are set for this week as part of a reroofing project at the John C. Hodges Library. The library will remain open and sidewalks will be open at a safe distance around the library during the work.

On Friday, September 13, trucks will begin delivering construction materials at 10:00 a.m. From noon to 6:00 p.m., a portion of Melrose Avenue from Volunteer Boulevard to the International House entrance will be closed for the delivery and placement of a construction crane.

Starting at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, Volunteer Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Peyton Manning Pass will be closed to all traffic as an additional crane is delivered and materials are lifted to the library roof.

During this time, the section of Volunteer Boulevard from Cumberland Avenue south to Melrose Avenue will be closed to through traffic, although local access to the Staff 12 parking lot will be maintained.

As the work continues on Saturday, northbound traffic on Volunteer Boulevard will be detoured via Peyton Manning Pass and Phillip Fulmer Way to the Hill. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Phillip Fulmer Way.

Access will be maintained to the G1 and G2 levels of the McClung Tower Garage Saturday, and it will be available to patrons of the Clarence Brown Theatre.

All roads are expected to reopen late Saturday. In the event of rain, the work will be rescheduled for Saturday, September 21.
