The first of four finalists in the search for the associate provost and director of the Chancellor’s Honors and Haslam Scholars programs will visit campus Tuesday and lead a forum for the campus community.
Timothy Hulsey, the founding dean of The Honors College at Virginia Commonwealth University, will lead the forum from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, in the Crest Room of the University Center.
Hulsey began directing the University Honors Program at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004 and led its transition to The Honors College in 2006. He has since served as its founding dean.
Prior to that he directed the Honors Program for Texas State University from 2001 to 2004. He has a doctorate from UT in clinical psychology, a master’s in clinical psychology from Trinity University, and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.
Each forum will be videotaped and archived for later viewing online. The campus community is encouraged to attend and provide their thoughts about the candidates here.
John Zomchick, vice provost for faculty affairs, is chairing the search. The position has been vacant since June, when Steve Dandaneau left to become the vice provost of undergraduate studies at Kansas State University. W. Bruce Wheeler, professor emeritus of history, has been serving as the interim associate provost.
