Today-HKL

The ‘Today’ crew has come and gone, but you can see a few highlights of their visit here.

Monday will be a very exciting day on campus as the fourth hour of the Today show will broadcast live outside of Ayres Hall. This is a unique opportunity to showcase the campus and the community.

Students, faculty, staff, and fans are encouraged to wear their orange and come out Monday morning for the show. The show will be set on the south lawn of Ayres—rain or shine—and air on NBC from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. EDT. Those who want to be a part of the audience should begin arriving at 8:00 a.m. The audience will stand around the set to help create a Big Orange atmosphere, with limited handicap seating available.

Segments of the show will feature UT students and faculty in several ways including a quiz show and “ambush” makeovers. Many of our fans will be seen on TV as well. UT won the challenge based on our school spirit so be sure to show your Big Orange pride. Show producers have issued a sign challenge for the show. The most impressive signs that show why fans love Kathie Lee and Hoda may be featured in the show.

Access to the Hill

There will be no parking available on Circle Drive on Monday due to the set-up of the show. Those who require handicap-accessible parking should park in Staff Lot 9 and take the provided shuttles to the Hill. Shuttle service will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Public parking is available for a fee in several parking garages near campus, including the Volunteer Hall Garage located off of White Avenue. Parking at Volunteer Hall costs $1.00 per half hour. To locate additional parking areas near campus, visit parkdowntownknoxville.com.

Faculty and staff should note that parking on Circle Drive also will be limited over the weekend as crews set up for the broadcast.
