To UT Faculty, Staff and Students
From: Provost Susan Martin
Subject: College of Business Administration Dean Candidates

Four new candidates for dean of the College of Business Administration will visit campus over the next two weeks. The fifth candidate, William Fox, was a finalist in the first phase of the search, which took place this spring.

Engineering Dean Wayne Davis is chairing the search. Business Dean Jan Williams is continuing to serve until the post is filled permanently.

As part of the candidates’ campus visits, each will lead a public forum for the campus community and respond to questions following their presentations. I invite you to save these dates and join us for the public forums:

  • Kenneth R. Evans, dean, University of Oklahoma Michael F. Price College of Business – Monday, September 10, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Room 402 Haslam Building
  • David J. Urban, executive associate dean, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business – Wednesday, September 12, 4:00-5:00 p.m., Room 402 Haslam Building
  • Mary A. Gowan, professor of management and former dean, Elon University Martha and Spencer Love School of Business – Thursday, September 13, 4:00-5:00 p.m., Room 402 Haslam Building
  • Stephen L. Mangum, senior associate dean, The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business – Tuesday, September 18, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Room 402 Haslam Building

William Fox, director of the UT Center for Business and Economic Research, will not repeat the process because he was a finalist from the first phase of the search and held a forum. However, the link to his February presentation may be found here.

For those who can’t attend, each forum will be webcast live and viewers will be able to submit questions and feedback online. For more information about each candidate, as well as links to the webcasts and feedback form, click here.
