The German Saturday School of Knoxville is currently enrolling students of all ages and proficiency levels for the 2012-13 school year. The school was founded by UT faculty in 2004. Since that time, it has served the Knoxville community by offering German classes for children, teenagers, and adults. Classes are held at Sacred Heart Cathedral School on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The fist day of classes for the 2012-13 school year is September 15, and the calendar for the entire school year is posted here.

For more information on the German Saturday School, visit the website or contact Stefanie Ohnesorg, associate professor of German, at 974-7098 or ohnesorg@utk.edu. Enrollment forms are posted here.

The school receives partial funding from the German government, and in early 2009 the school was invited to become a member of the Partner Schools for the Future Network (PASCH), a worldwide network of approximately 1,500 partner schools that share a similar curriculum, administer standardized German language exams, and encourage their students to take an interest in matters related to modern Germany and its society. In addition, students enrolled at the German Saturday School of Knoxville have access to special scholarship opportunities that are exclusively offered to students at PASCH German language schools.
