The first of three candidates for vice chancellor for research visits campus later this week and will lead a public forum for the campus community on Friday, August 10.

Daniel Reed, a corporate vice president at Microsoft, will speak and answer questions at a forum from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Haslam Business Building, Room 440. The forum will be web cast live and viewers will be able to submit questions and feedback online.

Prior to his work at Microsoft, Reed held academic and leadership positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has a master’s degree and doctorate in computer science from Purdue University. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Missouri, Rolla.
