Traffic ConesThe recent expansion of the new Student Union construction site has limited pedestrians’ access routes to Volunteer Boulevard from the east side of campus.

Pedestrians are encouraged to use the South Pedestrian Bridge from the Hill to the Haslam Business Building walkway.

Anyone traveling from the bottom of the Hill (Middle Way Drive) or from areas west of Neyland Stadium (Staff Lot 9 area) can use one of the following routes:

  • Walk through the breezeway between the Claxton Education Building and the Bailey Education Complex; or
  • Take the stairs between the Bailey Education Complex and the College of Nursing building. For mobility access, enter at the east side of Claxton to take the elevator to the second floor, which is ground level with Volunteer Boulevard.

Anyone parking in the G-10 garage can walk up Peyton Manning Pass to Volunteer Boulevard.

Contractors expanded the fence line to accommodate utility work that is expected to last through mid-August. Please do not attempt to climb the fence or move through the barricaded areas.
