Sarah Gardial, vice provost for faculty affairs, has been named dean of the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa. She begins the job July 1.
She has been vice provost since 2008 and has helped enhance faculty benefits and career path advancement. She also played a key role in the development and ongoing implementation of Vol Vision, the university’s strategic plan. She helped improve faculty recruitment and training and development for faculty, department heads, and deans.
Gardial joined the UT marketing faculty in 1986. She later served as assistant dean for the full-time MBA program and associate dean for the College of Business Administration’s academic programs before joining the provost’s staff.
Sally McMillan, vice provost for academic affairs, will lead the search for her replacement. More information will be made available soon in Tennessee Today.
