KNOXVILLE—Two College of Law alumni with broad experience inside the Beltway will visit the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, on Wednesday, March 14, to share their experiences.

Chuck Fleischmann and Jo-Marie St. Martin will speak on “Inside Washington” at noon in Room 132 of the College of Law. The event is free and open to the public.

Fleischmann is a member of the US House of Representatives and St. Martin is general counsel and director of legislative operations for the Speaker of the US House of Representatives John Boehner.

Fleischmann, who received his law degree in 1986, is a Republican who represents the eleven counties that make up the Third District of Tennessee. Before being elected to Congress, he ran a business in Chattanooga.

Fleischmann serves on two committees—the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

In her role, St. Martin develops and implements legislative plans for the House of Representatives.

St. Martin, who received her law degree in 1985, was selected as a John C. Stennis Congressional Staff Fellow for the 110th Congress after being nominated by Speaker Boehner. She also has been named as one of Roll Call’s “Fabulous Fifty in Congress” for the last two years.
