The UT Police Department held a special award ceremony in December honoring some of its best officers of 2011. Officers nominated by fellow staff members received honors such as supervisor of the year, officer of the year, non-commissioned staff member of the year, and the community service award.
Nominations are now being accepted for faculty, staff, and students who have dedicated time and energy toward enhancing intercultural and international awareness among undergraduate students. The Ready for the World Citation Award will be presented at the Chancellor’s Honors Banquet later in the semester.
UT Knoxville is one of the best values in public higher education, according to the latest rankings from Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. The magazine’s annual “100 Best Values in Public Colleges,” released today, ranks American colleges based on affordability and academic quality.
As of January 1, the University of Tennessee is required to “E-Verify” all new employees. E-Verify is an Internet-based system that allows an employer, using information reported on an employee’s Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to determine the eligibility of that employee to work in the United States.
