The research of UT ecologist Nate Sanders was covered in the Knoxville News Sentinel over the weekend. Sanders is studying the dramatic effects small temperature changes have on nature’s “movers and shakers”—ants. By incrementally increasing air temperature by up to 5.5 degrees Celsius and then studying how ant behavior changes, Sanders hopes to raise awareness about the big impact temperature can have on biodiversity.
