Professor Brian Barber arrived in Egypt last week to document the effect the most recent uprising is having on the country’s youth. The Knoxville News Sentinel wrote about Barber’s work as he follows the clashes between youth protesters and police. Barber, a professor of child and family studies and founder of the Center for the Study of Youth and Political Conflict, won a $450,000 grant from the Swiss-based Jacobs Foundation to fund a two-phase study and the beginnings of a documentary.
