KNOXVILLE—The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Center for Executive Education in the College of Business Administration is hosting a free Electronic Health Records (EHR) update on Friday, July 29, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. to noon in Room 602 of the Haslam Business Building.

The update will highlight “Meaningful Use: Where We Are with EHR, Where We Are Headed with EHR, and the Implications of EHR for Your Organization.”

Sessions will be taught by Dr. Donald Lighter, director of the Institute for Healthcare Quality Research and Education, and Randy Bradley, assistant professor for accounting and information management and health care IT strategist for UT’s Physician Executive MBA program.

EHR Update Faculty:

Donald Lighter, MD, MBA, FAAP, FACHE—corporate medical director for patient safety and quality at Shriner’s Hospitals for Children; director of the Institute for Healthcare Quality Research and Education; faculty for and graduate of the Physician Executive MBA program at UT Knoxville; lead faculty for the UT Center for Executive Education Electronic Health Records courses; and co-author of the widely distributed book on health care quality improvement, Principles and Methods of Quality Management in Health Care.

Randy Bradley, PhD—assistant professor at the UT Knoxville College of Business Administration; faculty of Health care IT Strategy for the UT Physician Executive MBA program; informatics researcher; co-author of journal-based articles on hospital IT infrastructure and business–IT alignment in US hospitals; and editorial review advisory board member for the Journal of Organizational and End User Computing and Decision Sciences Journal of Innovation Education.
