KNOXVILLE — Utility work on the University of Tennessee’s Natalie L. Haslam Music Center will result in road closures, traffic lane reductions, and detours during the first two weeks of July.

Starting on Independence Day, July 4, westbound traffic on Volunteer Boulevard in front of the music center construction site will be reduced to one lane. A section of Pat Head Summitt Street will be closed from the intersection at Volunteer Boulevard north to the entrance to the S23 staff parking lot.

Motorists will be able to access the S23 lot, located between the Clarence Brown Theatre, the Art and Architecture Building, and the Student Health Clinic, only from the Andy Holt Avenue entrance. Handicapped motorists still will have access to the handicapped parking spaces on Pat Head Summitt Street in front of the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Building.

The “T” east-west campus shuttle bus route will be detoured from Pat Head Summitt Street to UT Drive for the duration of the road closure.

All closed roads and traffic lanes are scheduled to reopen by Monday, July 18.
