Starting Monday, May 16, Phillip Fulmer Way will be closed from Andy Holt Avenue to the middle of the transit station in front of Gate 21 at Neyland Stadium. The closing comes as Knoxville Utility Board crews replace underground utility lines.
Vehicles traveling south on Phillip Fulmer Way next to the University Center will have to detour either left onto Middle Drive or right onto Andy Holt Avenue. Vehicles traveling east on Andy Holt Avenue will be able to continue straight to Middle Drive.
Construction is expected to be completed by Monday, May 23. Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) buses and campus shuttles will continue to use the transit station. KAT buses will detour around Andy Holt Avenue to Volunteer Boulevard to Peyton Manning Pass while construction continues, but the “T” campus routes will not be affected by the closure.
