To celebrate Earth Month and UT’s re-energized Switch Your Thinking energy saving effort, several Volunteers worked together to produce a new music video which debuts today.

In late January, Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek asked the campus community to cut back on energy consumption by another 10 percent this year. The first month’s results are in, and the campus has already reduced consumption by .8 percent.
UT Knoxville has received numerous recognitions for its environmental efforts. The campus earned a B grade on its 2011 College Sustainability Report Card from The Sustainable Endowments, ranking UT Knoxville in the top half among Southeastern Conference universities. Last year the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy gave UT Knoxville the Energy Efficiency Leadership Award for its Switch Your Thinking campaign and the Green Power Leadership Award for the campus’s commitment to advancing renewable energy.
