The University of Tennessee has installed life-saving devices in additional buildings on campus. The devices, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), automatically analyze the heart rhythm of someone suspected of having a heart attack. If the AED detects a problem that may respond to an electrical shock, the device will deliver the shock to restore normal heart

Thanks to the UT College of Social Work’s distance education program, Reba McBride is on track to complete her master’s degree in spring 2011, something the wife and mother of two says otherwise might not have been possible. The college’s Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) Distance Education Program has helped many others like
