UT Knoxville will highlight mental health resources available to its campus community at the annual VolAware Street Fair from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, on the University Center Plaza.
UT Knoxville’s Dougherty Engineering Building has now reopened after a fire in a laboratory Thursday morning. The fire has been extinguished and there are no reported injuries.
This summer, four members of the College of Engineering faculty and staff at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, traveled to Beijing, China, to begin a formal alliance between the Center for Transportation Research and Beijing Jiaotong Transportation University.
While many UT Knoxville students are heading home for fall break, about 50 students are on their way to help others. TeamVOLS students are on their way to Danville, Ky, and Nashville to serve others for the group’s annual Alternative Fall Break.
The week of Oct. 3 – 9 is National Fire Prevention Week, and this year’s motto is “Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With.” National Fire Prevention Week is sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association. National Fire Prevention Week was launched in remembrance of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
