KNOXVILLE – A section of Volunteer Boulevard on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, campus will be closed to through traffic from Tuesday, Aug. 3, until Tuesday, Aug. 10.
The road will be closed west of Pat Head Summitt Street from 7 a.m. Aug. 3 until 7 a.m. Aug. 10. The closure is due to underground utility work to support the construction of the Student Health Clinic.
Drivers heading west on Volunteer Boulevard will be detoured onto Pat Head Summitt Street northbound to Andy Holt Avenue and southbound to Chamique Holdsclaw Drive.
Traffic heading eastbound on Volunteer Boulevard will be detoured north onto UT Drive and south onto Todd Helton Drive. Fraternity Park residents and visitors can enter from the western end of Fraternity Park Drive at Volunteer Boulevard, although the eastern end is closed due to construction work.
The 109,242-square-foot Student Health Clinic, being built at the corner of Volunteer Boulevard and Pat Head Summitt Street, is expected to be completed by next summer.
