The research of Dr. Gajanan Bhat, professor in the UT Knoxville Department of Materials Science and Engineering, was mentioned in a recent issue of Forbes magazine. The article featured information on Ingeo, a biodegradable plastic produced from corn starch. Bhat’s laboratory researchers proved that the substance can be successfully meltblown to produce microfiber webs.
