KNOXVILLE — Linda Davidson, UT Knoxville vice chancellor for development and alumni affairs, was among area leaders recently honored at the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians’ 2010 “Women of Achievement” gala.
Davidson, a former Girl Scout, was honored for her efforts to exemplify the Girl Scouts mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
Announcing the honors was Tennessee First Lady Andrea Conte, also a former Girl Scout and nationally-recognized advocate for victims’ rights.
The event is the group’s main fundraiser for the year, and was held this year at the Knoxville Convention Center.
Also honored at the gala were former UT Trustee Susan Richardson Williams and Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Sharon Lee.
The Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians has 22,000 members in 46 counties.
