The Office of the Chancellor is seeking nominations of outstanding teachers and academic advisors. Nominees will be considered for a “Chancellor’s Teaching Award” or a “Chancellor’s Advising Award” to be announced at the Chancellor’s Honors Banquet.

Students will get UT Knoxville jumping this week with this year’s All-Sing competition, a campus tradition of more than 75 years. The 2010 All-Sing will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, in Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building.
Historic photographs of the Great Smoky Mountains are available in a new image collection from the UT Libraries. The images in the Thompson Brothers Digital Photograph Collection are the work of Jim and Robin Thompson, prominent photographers in Knoxville from the 1920s through the 1940s and pioneering photographers of the Smoky Mountains.
The nation’s most highly regarded poet will visit UT Knoxville this month for a poetry reading and book-signing event. Kay Ryan, the 2008-2009 U.S. Poet Laureate, will read and talk about her poetry at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the University Center auditorium. A book-signing event will follow.
