UT Knoxville and ORNL have established a new Distinguished Fellowship designed to attract top graduate students in science and engineering. UT Knoxville alumnus Clay Jones and his wife, Debbie, have donated $1 million to provide funding for the university’s student leadership program. Jones, Rockwell Collins chairman, president, and chief executive officer, visited campus last week to discuss plans for the gift, which will fund the Jones Director of Leadership Programming in the student affairs division.
The College of Business Administration at UT Knoxville has a strong reputation nationally and internationally, according to the 2009 Eduniversal survey, which ranked the top 1,000 business schools worldwide. The college received “three palmes,” indicating an excellent business school that is nationally strong and has international links.
Sixteen food enthusiasts — college students, retirees and working professionals in a variety of fields, including some already in the food service industry — graduated Wednesday, Dec. 2, from the Culinary Institute at UT Knoxville. This is the fifth class to graduate from the institute since it started in October 2007.
