KNOXVILLE — Starting Oct. 1, faculty and staff at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, can enjoy campus dining for a little less cash.

ARAMARK, which operates campus dining, is launching a UT Reward card program that gives faculty and staff a 15 percent discount on regularly priced food and drink in ARAMARK-run dining establishments except the Varsity Inn in Gibbs Hall.

“In talking with campus administration, we agreed it would be good to do something for the university employees that commit so much of their time to the university,” said Tim Vandermeersch, ARAMARK resident district manager. “During these difficult economic times, this is a new benefit which ARAMARK is glad to offer to enhance dining options for our faculty and staff.”

Signups for the new program will begin Oct. 1 and run through Oct. 16. To receive a UT Reward card that can be carried on a key ring, visit the ARAMARK offices at 108 Presidential Court, the third floor of Dunford Hall or go to the sign-up table in Arena Dining, the Ready for the World Café or Smokey’s during regular business hours. ARAMARK also will have a sign-up table at the Fall Festival on Oct. 16.

To receive a UT Reward card, faculty and staff members must show their UT identification card. They will be asked to register and sign a statement agreeing to the program’s rules. The UT Reward card must be used to receive a discount.

The discount applies to Morrill Dining, Presidential Court Café, Sophie’s Place in Strong Hall, Mabel’s on the Ag Campus, the Café at the Arena, as well as specialty restaurants on campus, including IHOP, Subway, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McAlister’s Deli, Quiznos, restaurants in the Rocky Top Cafe, Smokey’s, Starbucks, the Ready for the World Café and campus convenience stores.
