For the past couple of years, Ready for the World has compiled campus-wide “Passports” as a way to create visibility for the various campus activities and initiatives related to the international and intercultural initiative. The Passport is a great personal planner that is distributed free to students, faculty and staff. It is often used as a recruitment tool and serves as a valuable record of the extensive programming that supports Ready for the World goals.
This summer, the fall semester 2009-2010 Ready for the World Passport will be compiled and printed. In order to produce the Passport in time for fall distribution, information about your unit’s fall programs is needed by May 29. These events might include, but are not limited to, films, lectures, exhibits, campus-wide activities, etc. Include the date, time, place and a sentence or two about the event. If you have artwork that could be used to illustrate your event, please send it in .jpg format, as well.
Remember that Ready for the World encompasses both international AND intercultural efforts. In addition to wide-ranging intercultural activities across campus, next year has a particular theme; a focus on poverty. We are especially interested in any initiatives or activities that are planned that target this theme.
The Passport provides free advertisement for programs, so please take advantage of this opportunity to broadcast information to the campus community and beyond.
