Former University of Tennessee defensive back Charles Davis, now part of FOX Sports’ lead Bowl Championship Series broadcast team, will speak during Alumni Weekend events March 7-8.

“An Evening with Charles Davis” kicks off at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, with an hors d’oeuvres reception at the UT Visitor’s Center on Neyland Drive. The program follows at 7 p.m. with social time afterward.

On Sunday, March 8, Alumni Weekend continues with the UT versus Alabama basketball game. Tipoff is at noon in Thompson-Boling Arena. A limited number of tickets for the game are available.

Cost of the weekend—presented by the Black Alumni Council and the Office of Alumni Affairs—is $35 with basketball tickets or $25 without basketball tickets.

Davis was a four-year starter at defensive back at the University of Tennessee from 1983 to 1986. In addition, he was named to the Academic All-SEC team in 1986.

He and play-by-play announcer Thom Brennaman form FOX Sports’ lead Bowl Championship Series broadcast team. In his three seasons with FOX’s BCS coverage, Davis has called the last three National Championship Games, the 2009 FedEx Orange Bowl, the 2008 Allstate Sugar Bowl and the 2007 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
